मंगरौठ का एक दीवान, जिसके नाम से कांपते थे अंग्रेज अफसर

जंगे आजादी के दीवाने बुंदेलखण्ड केसरी दीवान शत्रुघ्न सिंह के नाम से ही अंग्रेज अफसर दहल उठते थे। प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध में लगान देने से मना करते हुए उन्होंने अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ बगावत का एलान किया। पत्नी रानी राजेंद्र कुमारी सहित स्वाधीनता के आंदोलन में कूद पडे़ थे।
आजादी के लिए छोड़ा राजसी ठाठबाट
मंगरौठ के जमींदार दीवान सुदर्शन सिंह व रावरानी के यहां 25 दिसंबर 1901 में दीवान शत्रुघ्न सिंह का जन्म हुआ। विरासत में मिली अकूत संपत्ति उन्हें रास न आई। उनके दिल में बचपन से आजादी का तराना चल रहा था। क्रांतिकारी पंडित परमानंद के संपर्क में आए और स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में कूद पड़े। सन् 1921 में वालंटियर की भर्ती व सत्याग्रह पर उन्हें जेल में डाल दिया गया।
रानी साहिब भी पति के साथ गईं जेल
असहयोग आंदोलन, नमक सत्याग्रह, अभिनय अवज्ञा आंदोलन, व्यक्तिगत सत्याग्रह आंदोलन व भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन में कई बार जेल गए। अभिनय अवज्ञा आंदोलन में 1933 में रानी सहित जेल गए। रानी राजेंद्र कुमारी भी पति से पीछे नहीं रहीं। वर्ष 1930 में अपने ढाई वर्ष के बच्चे सहित उन्हें जेल जाना पड़ा था। आजादी के बाद मंगरौठ में खादी आश्रम, कालपी में हिंदी भवन सहित कई शिक्षण संस्थानों की नींव रखी।
गांव से शुरू कराया अखबार का प्रकाशन
सक्रिय कांग्रेसी रामगोपाल गुप्त ने मंगरौठ में दीवान साहब से मिलकर प्रेस व्यवस्था का प्रस्ताव रखा। दीवान साहब ने तुरंत अपने घर से दो हजार रुपये साइकिलो स्टाइल मशीन खरीदने के लिए दिए। स्टेशनरी आपूर्ति के लिए भी अतिरिक्त धन की व्यवस्था की। मशीन मंगरौठ के एक हरिजन के यहां पर लगाई गई। 18 जून 1939 को बुंदेलखंड केसरी नाम से साप्ताहिक पत्र का पहला अंक प्रकाशित हुआ।
भूदान आंदोलन में पूरा गांव किया था दान
दीवान शत्रुघ्न सिंह मंगरौठ जागीर के जमींदार थे। विवाह जिले के गाजीपुर के जमींदार की कन्या राजेंद्र कुमारी से विवाह हुआ। विनोवा भावे के भूदान आंदोलन से प्रेरित होकर अपना पूरा गांव दान कर दिया। क्रांतिकारियों के लिए फंड की व्यवस्था करते थे। रानी राजेंद्र कुमारी ने आजादी के संग्राम में अपने सारे आभूषण दान कर दिए थे। वर्ष 2009 में अमेरिका से दीवान साहब के फोटो के साथ डाक टिकट जारी हुआ था।
