सोलह सोमवार व्रत क्या है?
सोलह सोमवार व्रत भगवान शिव को समर्पित एक अत्यंत शुभ और फलदायी व्रत है। यह व्रत विशेष रूप से विवाहित स्त्रियों, जीवनसाथी की तलाश कर रहे युवाओं और दांपत्य जीवन में परेशानियों से जूझ रहे लोगों द्वारा किया जाता है।
मान्यता है कि इस व्रत को करने से भगवान शिव की विशेष कृपा प्राप्त होती है और मनोवांछित फल की प्राप्ति होती है।
सोलह सोमवार व्रत कब से शुरू करें?
इस व्रत को श्रावण मास के पहले सोमवार से आरंभ करना अत्यधिक शुभ माना गया है। इसके बाद लगातार 16 सोमवार तक व्रत करना होता है।
यदि श्रावण मास संभव न हो, तो किसी भी सोमवार से व्रत शुरू किया जा सकता है।
सोलह सोमवार व्रत विधि (Solah Somvar Vrat Vidhi)
1. व्रत की तैयारी
- प्रातःकाल उठकर स्नान कर लें
- शुद्ध एवं स्वच्छ वस्त्र धारण करें
- पूजा स्थल को स्वच्छ करें
- शिवलिंग या भगवान शिव की प्रतिमा स्थापित करें
2. पूजा सामग्री
- बेलपत्र, भांग, धतूरा, सफेद पुष्प
- गंगाजल, सफेद वस्त्र, चंदन
- दीपक, धूप, नैवेद्य (गेंहू की पंजीरी)
- रोली, अक्षत, फूल, फल, जनेऊ, अष्टगंध
3. व्रत संकल्प मंत्र
पूजा की शुरुआत में निम्न संकल्प मंत्र का उच्चारण करें:
“ॐ विष्णुर्विष्णुर्विष्णुः… सोलह सोमवार व्रत प्रारम्भ करिष्ये।”
संकल्प के बाद सभी पूजन सामग्री भगवान शिव के चरणों में अर्पित करें।
4. भगवान शिव का आवाहन मंत्र
“ऊँ शिवशंकरमीशानं द्वादशार्द्धं त्रिलोचनम्।
उमासहितं देवं शिवं आवाहयाम्यहम्॥”
फूल और अक्षत शिवलिंग पर अर्पित करें।
5. पूजन क्रम
- शिवजी को जल अर्पित करें
- सफेद वस्त्र एवं चंदन से श्रृंगार करें
- बेलपत्र, धतूरा, भांग और पुष्प चढ़ाएं
- धूप, दीप दिखाकर नैवेद्य (पंजीरी) अर्पित करें

सोलह सोमवार व्रत कथा (Solah Somvar Vrat Katha)
व्रत की कथा एक कोढ़ी पुजारी के उद्धार की है, जिसे माता पार्वती के श्राप के कारण कोढ़ हो गया था।
एक दिन एक अप्सरा मंदिर में आई और पुजारी की दशा देख, उसे सोलह सोमवार व्रत की विधि बताई। पुजारी ने श्रद्धा से व्रत किया और 17वें सोमवार को उसे कोढ़ से मुक्ति मिल गई।
यह कथा भक्तों को श्रवण करनी चाहिए और परिवार सहित आरती में भाग लेना चाहिए।
व्रत में भोग बनाने की विधि
- पंजीरी तैयार करें: आधा किलो गेहूं के आटे को घी में भूनकर गुड़ मिलाएं
- इसे तीन भागों में बांटें
- एक भाग शिव जी को अर्पित करें, एक आरती के बाद बांटें, और एक स्वयं ग्रहण करें
