हरदोई (उत्तर प्रदेश): एक शादी, जो प्रेम, सपनों और वादों की डोर से जुड़ी थी… एक दुल्हन, जिसने सात फेरों में सात जन्मों का साथ मांगा था… और एक दूल्हा, जो रात को अचानक बिना बताए चला गया… सुबह उसकी लाश मिली। यह कहानी है यूपी के हरदोई ज़िले के गौराडांडा गांव के मजरा कोडरा की, जहां 22 वर्षीय नीरज की शादी के ठीक अगले दिन उसका शव आम के बाग में पेड़ से लटकता मिला।

नीरज और लक्ष्मी की शादी 11 मई को धूमधाम से हुई थी। लक्ष्मी नवपुरवा अंटवा की रहने वाली थी। शादी के बाद सोमवार को वह पहली बार अपने ससुराल पहुंची। दिनभर वैवाहिक रस्में निभाई गईं, लेकिन रात ने जो दर्द दिया, वह किसी बुरे सपने से कम नहीं था।

शादी की रात लक्ष्मी सज-संवरकर अपने दूल्हे का इंतजार करती रही। लेकिन नीरज बिना कुछ कहे घर से चला गया। परिजनों को लगा वह पत्नी के साथ कमरे में है। किसी को भनक तक नहीं लगी कि वह कहां गया। अगली सुबह गांव के कुछ लोग शौच के लिए निकले तो 200 मीटर दूर आम के बाग में नीरज का शव पेड़ से लटका मिला।

शादी के महज 12 घंटे बाद ही लक्ष्मी की दुनिया उजड़ गई। सुहागरात की रात वह अपने पति के इंतजार में दरवाजा ताकती रही, लेकिन नीरज कभी नहीं आया। सुबह जब उसे पति की मौत की सूचना मिली, तो वह बेसुध हो गई। जिस घर में मंगल गीत गूंजे थे, अब वहीं मातम पसरा हुआ है।

नीरज पांच भाई-बहनों में दूसरे नंबर पर था और खेती करता था। पुलिस और फॉरेंसिक टीम मौके पर पहुंची और साक्ष्य जुटाए। सीओ हरियावां संतोष सिंह ने बताया कि अभी यह स्पष्ट नहीं है कि नीरज ने आत्महत्या क्यों की। घरवाले भी इस घटना को समझ नहीं पा रहे हैं।
